Regretful Florentino Thinks about It after Liverpool: Two Transfers, Two Departures

The president of Real Madrid is thinking of radically changing a position in the squad.

Florentino Pérez is not at all happy with Real Madrid's game against Liverpool. The president followed it closely and has come to a conclusion for next season: Major changes are needed in defense. Not only in the center of defense, where moves are already being made to sign a promising player, but also on the left wing. There has been much talk about the possible arrival of Alphonso Davies but he could be joined by another player.

Madrid-Barcelona has learned that Florentino Pérez is seriously considering giving the left-back position a complete makeover. Everyone assumes that Alphonso Davies will arrive on a free transfer next summer, after his contract with Bayern expires. He is expected to take the place of Spaniard Fran García. However, Florentino is beginning to seriously consider getting rid of Ferland Mendy and making another top-level transfer.

One scenario that Florentino is considering is selling Ferland Mendy and Fran García in the next summer transfer window. The squad would then be reinforced with two other players in their positions. In addition to Alphonso Davies, the other player who could also arrive at Real Madrid is Miguel Gutiérrez, a youth player. When he was sold to Girona, a buyback clause was signed for 8 million euros. This makes him a real bargain to bring him back to Bernabéu.

Florentino Pérez's Plan at Real Madrid: Alphonso Davies and Miguel Gutiérrez for 8 Million

This possibility is gaining weight in the mind of Florentino Pérez, who ended up very angry after the game at Anfield. The performance of Ferland Mendy and Fran García was very weak and he believes that more is needed. Alphonso Davies for free and Miguel Gutiérrez for just 8 million euros. Such a deal would allow Real Madrid to give a significant leap in quality to the position while earning money.

In the case of Mendy, he believes that he can be sold for a figure between 40 and 50 million euros. He is a full-back who is very popular in Saudi Arabia and he wouldn't be against this possibility. A key role could be played by his main supporter at Real Madrid, Ancelotti. If he leaves, his departure would be more feasible.

Meanwhile, the plan for Fran García is to obtain a little more than 15 million for his sale. This means that, between the Spaniard and Mendy, Real Madrid could get around 60 million. Out of these, only 8 would go to pay his replacements, since Alphonso Davies would be free.

This plan is very appealing to Florentino Pérez but, for now, everything remains to be seen.
