Cristiano Ronaldo's Ex Reveals What Happened at Liverpool: It was Not Just Mbappé

The former Real Madrid player speaks bluntly about the team's defeat against Liverpool

Former Real Madrid player Gareth Bale was one of the first to comment on the Whites' 0-2 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

In an interview with TNT Sports, Bale was full of praise for Jürgen Klopp's team, while also offering his view on the current situation of the Madrid club. Bale made it clear that the defeat was more than just a game, reflecting Real Madrid's challenges beyond the criticism on Mbappé.

Liverpool Was Superior in Every Aspect

Bale's analysis of the match was clear: Liverpool completely dominated the game. According to the Welshman, the Reds' superiority was evident from the first minute until the final whistle.

"Liverpool was much better by far," said Bale. This difference was clear in the defeat of Real Madrid, which, despite the efforts, failed to stop the pace of the home team. "It is very difficult to compete in these circumstances with so many injuries," explained the former Real Madrid player.

Real Madrid Always Gets Up

Despite the defeat and the club's current difficulties, Bale hasn't lost hope. The Welshman recalled that Real Madrid always find a way to move forward, even in the most difficult times.

"Real Madrid is going through a difficult period, but we know that they always find a way to overcome it," he said. This resilience has been key to the club's history and Bale is confident that, with time, the team will recover its best form.

Mbappé: the Center of Attention

The former footballer didn't hesitate to mention Kylian Mbappé. According to his analysis, he was called to be one of the key pieces in this game. However, Bale considered that Mbappé was not up to par at the key moment, by missing a penalty that could have tied the match.

Bale said the media attention had been more focused on Mbappe's mistake, despite Liverpool winning the match. "Salah and he both missed penalties. But with Liverpool winning, only Mbappé’s miss will be discussed," he added.

The Absence of key players

Another factor that Bale highlighted was the absence of important players, such as Vinícius Júnior, who were key to Real Madrid's performance.

"They needed him. Without Vinícius and other players, Madrid needed to do something," Bale said of the absences at Anfield. According to him, the lack of these essential players seriously affected the chances of Ancelotti's team.
