Initially, it was not planned for any of the injured Barcelona players to go to Milan to watch the important match against Inter. Surprisingly, and via a regular flight, Jules Koundé showed up in the Italian city to support his teammates. The injured defender watched the match from the stands, accompanied by a former Barça footballer like Joao Félix.
Jules Koundé didn't understand that Lewandowski would play
The podcast "Barça Reservat" from Catalunya Ràdio revealed some comments made by the French player during the Inter-Barça match. He didn't understand one of Hansi Flick's decisions, which was to bring on Robert Lewandowski in the final moments of the match. Koundé watched the situation in astonishment, as in his opinion, the Polish player was not in condition to play after his muscle injury.
In this regard, and as the mentioned information points out, Jules Koundé went so far as to say: "I don't know why Lewandowski is playing, he shouldn't play in his current state."

The truth is that the Barça defender was not wrong. During the time he was on the field, Robert Lewandowski barely had any goal opportunities and didn't get much into the game. Hansi Flick's plan was clear: to hold the result with long balls that the taller Polish player would head down, taller than Ferran. Despite this, it didn't work out, as shortly after, Inter would equalize and eventually turn the game around in extra time.
Robert Lewandowski, devastated after the defeat
He is about to turn 37, and Robert Lewandowski knows he has little time left at the top level. Specifically, his contract with Barça ends in 2026, and the intention is not to renew it so he can find a new destination. The next will be his last season at the Catalan club, and he hopes to achieve the goal that narrowly escaped him this time: winning another Champions League.
In a message posted on his Instagram account after the Inter-Barça match, Robert Lewandowski stated: "We gave it our all and were so close. Proud of this journey, and very grateful for your support, culers! There's more to come, and we'll keep moving forward, together!"
