He Said YES! Joan García to Play for Barça and Replace Ter Stegen: Confirmed

Joan García has replied to FC Barcelona's offer: he accepts and will be the starting goalkeeper next season

The most desired news of the entire week has broken: Joan García will be a new player for FC Barcelona. In recent hours, the goalkeeper has reportedly decided to move to Spotify Camp Nou for next season. There is total optimism within the culer squad to finalize the deal as soon as possible, with all parties determined to complete it during the coming week.

For some time now, Barça have been in contact with Joan García's representatives regarding his signing. In this regard, the agreement with them is complete: he will sign for five seasons and has been given the guarantees he requested. He will arrive as the starting goalkeeper for the blaugrana team, "taking" the position from Ter Stegen, who is expected to leave FC Barcelona this summer.

Fabrizio Romano confirms it: Joan García to Barça

The transfer market guru in Europe, journalist Fabrizio Romano, hasn't remained silent. Using his X account, he explained that negotiations with the Catalan are still progressing, with Barça "confident" they'll soon get the final green light.

At FC Barcelona, they're clear: the agreement with Joan García must be finalized as soon as possible, trying to get ahead of English clubs. As soon as the goalkeeper officially confirms it, the payment of his release clause, valued at just €25 million, will proceed.

Hansi Flick has approved this move, seeing Joan García as his starting goalkeeper for next season. Deco is personally handling the negotiations, trying to get the best possible deal for Barça.

Ter Stegen: Future in doubt

FC Barcelona have decided to part ways with Ter Stegen this very summer if they secure the signing of a top-level goalkeeper. This is the idea after all parts of the sporting management have discussed it, believing that the German has already passed his best level and won't recover it. At 33 years old, he has a contract signed until 2028 with one of the highest salaries on the squad: but he's clear, if they don't want him, he's willing to leave.

Throughout his career, the German has been in Neuer's shadow in Germany. With the veteran goalkeeper retired from the national team, what the Barcelona player doesn't want is to miss the next World Cup. He understands that if Joan García or another goalkeeper arrives, it's to take his place and he'd be willing to leave. In this regard, his departure from Barça would mean another farewell: that of his right-hand man José Ramón de la Fuente.

The plan is clear and underway: there will be a revolution in Barcelona's goalkeeping methodology. Joan García will arrive, Ter Stegen and his right-hand man will leave, and Toni Tapalovic's role will be changed.
