Scared Off Pedrerol Withdraws 379,000-Euro Lawsuit Filed against Siro López

Siro considers himself the winner in court: "If you quit, it means I was right and you were going to lose"

Another victory for Siro López over Josep Pedrerol. At least that's how he interprets the decision of the presenter of El Chiringuito to withdraw the lawsuit he had filed against him.

The saying goes that there's only one step between love and hate. The saying is fully true for this pair of sports journalists who were very close in the past by strong ties of friendship. Then that relationship broke down and has led to a real ruthlesswar.

The origin is in Siro López's departure from Josep Pedrerol's team, first at Punto Pelota and then at El Chiringuito. Siro disconnected from Pedrerol and Atresmedia. The Catalonian journalist, who describes himself as a culer, never forgave him for it.

The exchange of statements between the two has been constant since then, so has their fondness for resorting to justice.

Siro has been particularly belligerent toward Josep Pedrerol in recent years. He has denounced Pedrerol's bad practices with him, his collaborators and the profession in general.

"I Understand That Young People Remain Quiet"

Recently Siro López said: “I understand that young people remain quiet. They do it so they can continue earning their daily bread where this miserable person can't pressure them into leaving them without work.”

He also defended journalist Nacho Peña, a former collaborator of Pedrerol: "He made sure that Nacho Peña was fired in Mexico by talking to his boss."

"Also, three young men left the channel at the same time, because they felt they were being exploited. This miserable and shameless man called some media outlets not to give them a job."

Last April, Pedrerol filed a lawsuit against Siro López for predatory behavior, claiming 379,000 euros. The trial was due to take place on 10 December.

Pedrerol Withdraws the 379,000-Euro Claim

"Pedrerol is asking me for 379,000 euros to scare me and make me lower my guard. I'm not going to do that. I said it at the time: I'm not going to withdraw the complaints I've made."

"There are witnesses who have confirmed it. It's not an invention. He's not going to silence me," Siro López said at the time.

Siro didn't back down and Josep Pedrerol has finally decided to withdraw the lawsuit to avoid going to trial.

He filed the lawsuit to silence me and scare me. He's used justice for his personal benefit. He's already tried to do the same with many others,” Siro López said on his Twitch channel. He issued a warning: “There are things I haven't yet told.”

"He Has Attacked My Credibility"

But Siro is not satisfied with the way the matter has been solved. He explains it this way: “Something is wrong with justice. When someone files a false complaint, they can withdraw it and get away with it.”

"And all he has to do is pay the legal fees. By filing this complaint he has attacked my credibility," he said on Twitch.

"If you withdraw the lawsuit, it means that I was right and you were going to lose. In the words of lawyers, it's like not showing up for the game," Siro said.
