Official: Real Madrid's Transfer to Arrive in January. Ancelotti Doesn't Believe It

He's the best of the reinforcements that Ancelotti could have hoped for in the new year.

COPE has offered happy news about a transfer that Carlo Ancelotti is eagerly awaiting.

He's neither Alexander-Arnold nor Alphonso Davies, nor Florian Wirtz. He's not even the new Toni Kroos, nor a brand new center-back.

This is David Alaba, the Austrian center-back for Real Madrid who was injured on 17 December 2023 while playing at the Bernabéu against Rayo Vallecano.

There was Fear about Alaba's Continuity as a Footballer

After a year, Carlo Ancelotti will be able to count on him again in his starting lineups. However,  latest reports on his condition were not exactly optimistic.

There has even been speculation that David Alaba might not play soccer again.

COPE has announced that David Alaba is progressing well in his recovery and that he hopes to be available for Ancelotti in November to train and ready by January to play.

It is the best news that the Italian coach could have received. With the return of David Alaba he would find the best answer to cover Carvajal's side and a position in the center of defense .

The issue is very relevant because Real Madrid has even considered bringing forward Alexander-Arnold's arrival to cover for Dani Carvajal. But Alaba's return would change things and the club could do without a new transfer.

COPE journalist Miguel Ángel Díaz confirms the news: “David Alaba will be able to join group training next November. But he will be back in top form in January 2025.”

The information is even more valuable after it was revealed that Alaba's cartilage damage could even keep him from playing soccer. Apparently, Alaba's injury was not as serious as reported.

But the radical change in Alaba's situation changes Real Madrid's roadmap in its transfer policy. If he can count on Alaba by January, Ancelotti won't ask for anyone.
