Real Madrid faces news that nobody wanted to hear: Jude Bellingham is saying goodbye to the field for several months. The talented English midfielder will undergo surgery to finally solve the problems in his left shoulder. This is an injury he has been dealing with since November 2023 and, despite his efforts to live with it, he can no longer keep ignoring it.
An injury that never fully healed
Everything started with a match against Rayo Vallecano. During that game, Bellingham suffered a dislocation in his shoulder. Since then, every collision and fall posed a risk.
To keep competing, he played with a brace that held his arm. However, the device was neither comfortable nor safe in the long term. True to his word, he will undergo surgery now that the season has ended.

Three or four months out
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the estimated recovery time is three to four months. With LaLiga starting on August 16, Bellingham will miss the beginning of the championship.
In the best-case scenario, he would be available at the end of October. However, if the club decides not to rush his return, we might not see him until the end of November. Everything will depend on how he progresses after surgery.
The goal is clear: get him back to 100%. Madrid wants to count on that explosive, decisive, and committed Bellingham who dazzled in his first season once again.
Now what? Madrid's alternatives
Replacing Bellingham won't be easy; his impact on the field goes beyond goals or assists. He has leadership, commitment, and a unique energy. However, Xabi Alonso will have to look for solutions.
One option, although unlikely, is to modify the formation. Switching to play with three forwards, sacrificing coverage on the flanks, could give more prominence to players like Brahim, Gonzalo, or Rodrygo.
The most logical solution seems to be in midfield. If the center-backs recover, Tchouaméni could leave defense and return to his natural position. Alongside him, Valverde and Arda Güler can form a trio with quality and balance.
There are also the names of Brahim and the young Mastantuono. Both would have to adapt to a deeper position. We must not forget Dani Ceballos; the Andalusian wants to regain prominence and could take advantage of this opportunity to shine.
A difficult void to fill
Bellingham's absence is a blow for the team and for the fans, not only because of what he brings on the field, but also because of what he represents. But at Real Madrid, they know that the most important thing is his full recovery. They don't want him at half strength; they want him whole.
Meanwhile, others will have to step up. Even though Jude is out, the season goes on. Madrid never stops.
