Unexpectedly, Jesús Vallejo finds a team in Spain: 'I'm going to play for the...'

The center-back has been without a team since his contract with Real Madrid ended on June 30

Jesús Vallejo is currently unemployed after finishing his time at Real Madrid. On June 30, unlike some of his teammates, his contract ended and it was decided that he wouldn't travel to the Club World Cup. The 28-year-old center-back still has a strong track record and is considering several offers, both from Spain and the rest of Europe, and it seems that he may be close to making a decision.

Jesús Vallejo finds a team in Spain

In recent hours, sources from Castilla-La Mancha have revealed that Jesús Vallejo has an offer from Albacete on the table. A couple of days ago, he met with the club's sporting director, Toché, who presented him with a formal offer.

The idea is for Vallejo to respond in the coming days, as he is interested in the possibility of continuing to play in Spain. Albacete is making a strong push for him and is offering him an important role at one of the best clubs in the Second Division.

At the moment, the team from La Mancha only has three center-backs, so Jesús Vallejo could play an important role at Carlos Belmonte.

A lifetime at Madrid

Jesús Vallejo's story at Real Madrid isn't written with flashy headlines or staggering numbers. It's built with patience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment during the ten years in which he was part of the most decorated club in the world.  Vallejo, who arrived in 2015 as one of the most promising talents in Spanish soccer after standing out at Real Zaragoza, will close in 2025 a chapter marked by discretion, but also by loyalty to a badge he has respected until the end.

In total, the Aragonese center-back has played 35 official matches in the white jersey, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist. These are modest numbers for a decade at the club, but they don't tell the whole story. Vallejo was a regular part of the rotations, especially at key moments when injuries or squad rotations forced his inclusion. He was always reliable, never raised his voice over a lack of minutes, and worked in silence.

During this time, Jesús Vallejo also experienced several loan spells (Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolverhampton, Granada) that helped him continue to grow, although he wasn't able to establish himself as a regular at Santiago Bernabéu. However, his role in the locker room was always highly valued by coaches and teammates, making him a respected and well-liked player

Vallejo's legacy at Chamartín isn't measured only in minutes on the field, but in his honors: 11 titles, including 2 Champions League trophies, as well as several league titles, Super Cups, and Club World Cups. This collection of trophies reflects the collective success of a golden era in which he, even from the background, was also a part.
