Todd Boehly's Chelsea, led by Enzo Maresca from the bench, is starting to show signs of life in the Premier League.
With the death of its previous owner, Russian Roman Abramovich, Chelsea seemed to have fallen into a slump in terms of play and results.
This season, however, after an extraordinary investment in transfers (250 million), the "blue" team is back on track. It's still far behind Liverpool, the undisputed leader in the table, but it's already there. Second place, four points behind the reds and with one game in hand.
Anything is possible in the new Chelsea and London is once again experiencing the excitement of the Chelsea district. Maresca has earned the credit of the fans and the team is becoming more convincing as the calendar progresses.
100-Million Offer for Raphinha
Todd Boehly has achieved his goal leading the new ownership and Chelsea is back on the map of the European powers.
Since Todd Boehly took over as chairman in summer 2022, Chelsea has spent €1.3 billion on transfers. Even so ,they still have a long way to go to reach the top.
The London club has focused on Barcelona player Raphinha, according to El Nacional. They are willing to pay 100 million euros for him. Stamford Bridge believes that Raphinha would be the ideal partner for Cole Palmer in Chelsea's offense.
Hansi Flick opposes Raphinha's Departure from Barça
Raphinha is probably the fittest player in La Liga and Hansi Flick has opposed his departure from the club. He is a key player in the lineup alongside Lamine Yamal and Lewandowski.
Barça's financial situation is what it is. Laporta has tried to put Araújo and Frenkie De Jong on the market, but hasn't managed to get them to agree to a transfer. We'll have to see what Raphinha thinks.
The Brazilian star is happy at Barça and wants to fulfill the contract he's signed with the club, which ends in 2027. However, the financial situation at Barça is dramatic. So much so that Dani Olmo can't be registered as of January 1st to finish the season with Barça.
A Luxury That Barça Can't afford
Raphinha's departure would free up wages and provide much-needed income to prevent the season from ending in deficit again.
Chelsea knows that Barça can't afford to pass up an offer of this nature and is confident about having Raphinha in blue next January.
Raphinha cost Barça 58 million euros in summer 2022 plus another nine in variables.
