Ruled Out, He Imitates Vitor Roque: Luis Enrique Asks for His Transfer for PSG

He is no longer in the plans of Hansi Flick's Barça, but Luis Enrique is asking for his transfer

In the fast-paced transfer market, some players lose their prominence when they see their future fade away. This is the case of one of the names that seemed to be in Barça's orbit but who, in the end, hasn't been included in the plans of the Catalonians. Deco proposed his transfer months ago but now, seeing his crazy price, he's decided to cancel his arrival.

Lewandowski's Successor is a Problem for Barça

At FC Barcelona, one of the most worrying issues is finding a reliable replacement for Lewandowski. Vitor Roque was the first test, but it didn't go very well. That's why the Barça board doesn't want to take any risks and will opt for a free transfer like Jonathan David.

However, the big favorite was neither Vitor Roque nor Jonathan David. Specifically, Deco's favorite was Viktor Gyökeres. However, after analyzing his price, FC Barcelona had to cancel his arrival.

Viktor Gyökeres will therefore not be Lewandowski's rival, the latter remaining as the undisputed reference in the Barça attack. Despite his talent, the Swede is valued at 70 million euros. Thus, the striker, who was on the list of possible transfers, is out of the equation for Barça.

The option of signing Viktor Gyökeres is therefore moving away from Camp Nou. Barça prefers to focus its attention on other targets, such as promising Jonathan David. The Canadian striker could be the star of the future in the Barça attack. This has left the Swede without options at the Catalonian club but has opened new doors at other teams in Europe.

Luis Enrique is Interested in Gyökeres for PSG

While Barça is moving away from Gyökeres, a European elite team has shown interest in signing him. Luis Enrique, current PSG coach, has requested the incorporation of the Swedish striker to strengthen his offense. PSG, now looking for offensive options after several seasons without winning the Champions League, believes that Gyökeres can be a key piece in the team.

The Asturian coach values Gyökeres's ability to adapt to different positions in attack. Although he doesn't have the experience of other big names, his young and dynamic profile makes him very attractive for a PSG that is constantly moving in the transfer market. In fact, it is rumored that the transfer could be a priority for the next winter market.
