He was born on February 24, 1965, in Heidelberg, 211 mi (340 kilometers) from Munich. He has turned 60 in Barcelona, leading Barça and with the gift of being chosen, for the third time, as the best coach of the month in LaLiga.
Flick Was the Casadó of Bayern in the 80s

As a footballer, Flick had a short career. He signed in 1985 with Bayern Munich. The coach who requested his signing was Udo Lattek, Barça's coach in 1982-83 and 1983-84, with Maradona and Schuster under his command.
He played as a pivot, or defensive midfielder, like Casadó in his current Barça. But he also moved as a right-back, showcasing his versatility.
He wasn't brilliant; his role was to balance the team and assist in defensive tasks, like Casadó. Simple soccer without virtuosity, as there were other players in the team for that.
Two Illustrious Mentors: Udo Lattek and Jupp Heynckes
Matthaus, Brehme, Rummenigge, or Hoeness were illustrious teammates. After Lattek, he was coached by the former Madridist Jupp Heynckes.
With Bayern, he played 104 matches, scoring 5 goals and winning 6 titles: 4 Bundesligas, 1 Pokal, and 1 Supercup. He reached the European Cup final but lost to Porto in 1987.

He Never Faced Barça, but He Did Face Real Madrid
He never faced Barça as a player. And twice against Real Madrid, with mixed fortunes. He eliminated the Whites in the 1986-87 semifinals and lost in the 1987-88 quarterfinals.
In 1990, he signed with Cologne, where he played alongside Hassler, Bodo Illgner, Littbarski. And he played again under the command of Udo Lattek.
But injuries ended his professional career, and he had to retire at just 28 years of age. He played 201 matches in the Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals and providing 4 assists. He never debuted with the national team.
As a coach, the most significant achievement he has accomplished is the sextuple in 2020 with Bayern Munich. He also led the German national team without success.
He is one of the most beloved coaches in German soccer. His personality captivates everyone.
