Ready to Shine: Flick's Next Star is 18 and Better Than Pedri

The new Pedri cost 3 million and is the great hope for the future of German soccer

Hansi Flick knows where he is and what is expected of him. So far his Barça youth project is working.

He already knows what it's like to work with big stars. Thanks to them he won the sixth one with Bayern Munich. But what attracts him are youngsters.

Barça Boasts about Its Youth Squad with Flick

At Barça he's showing that he knows how to get the most out of the young talents that La Masia brings to the FC Barcelona first team.

His bets include Lamine Yamal, Marc Bernal, Marc Casadó, Héctor Fort, Gerard Martín, Andrés Cuenca or Sergi Domínguez. They all prove him right and confirm that he is on the right path.

Thanks to him, Barça boasts about having a youth academy. Not to make money out of it but to take advantage of all the talent that emerges from La Masia in the first team.

One is Missing: Noah Darvich

This season Barça is playing with seven or eight youth players in its lineup. But not all of them are there yet. One is missing and will receive the alternative before the end of the season.

It is a fellow countryman of Flick's, Noah Darvich. After the emergence of Musiala, he has become the great hope for the future of German soccer.

Flick knows him very well. He was in charge of the German national team when he met him. He was also in charge of the youth teams.

There, Noah Darvich was already standin out. Deco signed him in summer 2023 when he was playing for Freiburg. He had an offer from Real Madrid and another from Bayern, but he chose Barça.

Pedri's Reply

He only cost 3 million euros, but Flick already has him ready. He will be his next contribution before the end of the season.

Darvich had already adapted to the first team during the preseason and on the tour of the United States. He then returned to the reserve team but continues to train with the first team.

He is the leader of the German U-19 team, where he puts all his talent into it, as he does at Barça B. He has vision, dribbling, arrival, shooting and goal-scoring skills. He also has extraordinary leadership skills.

He is a kind of Pedri replica and his natural substitute if injuries strike again for the Canary Islander. Another gift from Flick to Barça.

He found it when he arrived, but then you have to have guts to trust him, which is Flick's case.
