Oscar Mingueza has spoken out days before the match between Celta and Barça. The Barça youth player has surprised by clearly pointing to the culprit of his departure some time ago: Xavi Hernández. Speaking to TV3, Mingueza has made it clear that he left FC Barcelona because of his former coach, due to the lack of confidence he had in him.
"We didn't fit in well and he told me I would only play ten games," Mingueza began by saying. In this sense, he added: "When Xavi arrived we didn't fit in well. He didn't like me or whatever. He told me I would play 10 games."
Not only did he blame the man who was his coach at Barça. Mingueza also said: "I don't think I had the best mentality in the world either. I trained for the sake of it, I played for the sake of it... That's why I left FC Barcelona. I wanted to try to regain the motivation to play, enjoy and improve my performance."
"Barça was in a very critical moment and I, like almost all the players on that team, ended up being caught out. We have to value a lot what Casadó and Cubarsí are doing. If you are a defender and you make a mistake, you appear in the fornt page and you are screwed. They will make mistakes, but when they do, they shouldn't be killed," concluded Mingueza.
Mingueza and a Possible Return to Barça: Deco Already Knows How Much He Costs
Deco is considering various moves for next season, but it seems that there's one that he is particularly interested in. El Nacional has discovered that the first name on his list is Óscar Mingueza. He is a player with background at Barça and whose return is very cheap. His versatility makes him a defender who has once again aroused the interest of the blaugrana and who could be back next season.
Mingueza can play in all positions in defense: right-back, left-back and also center-back. This means that he is a defender who would strengthen all positions in the line for a financially affordable price. By selling him to Celta, Barça reserved 50% of his future sale, which means that, if they decide to sign him, it would cost them half of his real price.
Migueza's contract with Celta includes a 20 million-euro buyout clause, which would be reduced to just 10 million for Barça. According to the aforementioned, Deco's intention would be to use the income from a hypothetical sale of Eric García to finance the buyback of the Barça youth player. Eric is not important to Hansi Flick, who has even given his approval to the move.
