Regretting His Exit, Deco Negotiates His Return to Barça: Bad News for Eric García

The Portuguese has several operations in mind. With this one, he would kill several birds with one stone: 3x1.

Deco is considering various moves for next season. It seems that there's one that he is particularly interested in. El Nacional has discovered that the first name on his list is Óscar Mingueza, a player who has a past at Barça and whose return is very cheap. His versatility makes him a defender who has once again aroused the interest of the blaugrana and who could be back next season.

Óscar Mingueza can play in all positions in defense: right-back, left-back and also center-back. This means that he is a defender who would strengthen all positions in the line for a financially affordable price. By selling him to Celta, Barça reserved 50% of his future sale, which means that if they decide to sign him, it would cost them half of his real price.

Migueza's contract with Celta includes a 20-million-euro buyout clause, which would be reduced to just 10 million for Barça. According to the aforementioned, Deco's plan would be to use the income from a hypothetical sale of Eric García to finance the repurchase of the Barça youth player. Eric is a player who is not important to Hansi Flick, who has even given his approval to the move.

Oscar Mingueza and One More: Barça's Plan to Strengthen Defense in 2025

Deco is clear that certain changes are needed in the defensive line for next season. Barça is doing well but it's considered necessary to have a more covered rearguard. The name of Óscar Mingueza appears on the list of the sporting director, who values his performance this season very positively.

In any case, Mingueza is not the only name on the list. The return of the youth player could be linked to a transfer that Flick has personally requested and that would make up for the departure of Eric García. We are talking about Jonathan Tah, a German center-back whose contract expires on 30 June.

Deco hopes that for just 10 million euros he can cover the entire defensive line with greater solvency. Between Óscar Mingueza and Tah, the rearguard would be much more covered. Dece is only counting on the sale of Eric García, which would be used to pay for both arrivals.
