Laporta not only exploded at Marciniak in Inter-Barça: the other reason for his anger

Barcelona's President didn't understand Inter Milan's treatment and their position in the important match

Joan Laporta wasn't happy at all with what happened in the Inter-Barça. Not only because of the result, which led to FC Barcelona being eliminated from the Champions League, nor because of Marciniak's performance. The Barça president left the Giuseppe Meazza very upset with the treatment received from Inter Milan, as discovered by the podcast "Barça Reservat" from Catalunya Ràdio.

Laporta exploded with Inter's treatment

The mentioned information indicated that both Laporta and the rest of his board of directors were placed in the stadium's stands, but not in a reserved box. They were put among the fans, with the Barça delegation occupying up to three rows of the stands. Not only directors attended, but also members of the sports management, such as Deco or Bojan, were present.

During the course of the Inter-Barça, both Laporta and the rest of the expedition had to endure the insults from Inter Milan fans. "Barça Reservat" discovered that the Italian fans "turned and insulted Laporta".

After FC Barcelona temporarily turned the score around, the television production focused on the stands where Laporta was, who appeared very effusive. It wasn't just because of the score at that moment, but also because of the reactions he had to endure throughout the match from Inter Milan fans.

Laporta, forceful with Marciniak

Beyond that, what bothered Laporta and his board the most was the performance of the match referee, the Pole Szymon Marciniak. All decisions ended up being against Barça, playing a key role in the result.

Less than 24 hours after the Inter-Barça, in an institutional message, Laporta was forceful against Marciniak. "It couldn't be: we fought to achieve it and reach the final in Munich, but it couldn't be. Basically because of refereeing decisions that harmed us, but this has to make us stronger to have the right mindset," he stated.

In this regard, he concluded: "We will return to the Champions League and compete to win it. It's a very tough moment because of yesterday's defeat, because we had it within reach and it couldn't be. We fought to achieve it and I see the Barça fans proud of this team, of what is being done. This team that has present and future and that gives us strength."
