It's Not Haaland – New Lewandowski Comes from England and Flick Approves: U-Turn

A forward who has always been highly regarded at FC Barcelona is now for sale

FC Barcelona has been looking for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The 37-year-old's contract will automatically be renewed until 2026 but the plan is for him not to continue beyond that year. The idea is to have his successor lined up sooner rather than later. Many names have been rumored, but one unexpected name seems to be gaining traction: Marcus Rashford.

The Telegraph has discovered that Manchester United has decided to put Marcus Rashford on the market to finally get rid of him. The plan is clear: sell him now or next summer market, accepting lower offers to offload his salary.

This is a scenario that Barça plans to take advantage of. It's not just we saying it; journalist Dean Jones has made it public, indicating that the blaugrana team is interested in Rashford. He's a forward who can perform on the wing and is liked for his versatility. However, he's especially seen as occupying the center of the attack, becoming Lewandowski's "heir."

Marcus Rashford: a Surprising and Economical Solution for Barça: Hansi Flick Agrees

At 27, Rashford is ready to leave England for good. He has different options on the table, but the one that seems to convince him the most is heading to Barça. He's valued at around 60 million euros, but the idea in Manchester is to let him go for much less.

At an economical price, FC Barcelona seems clear that he's a name to consider. Marcus Rashford is highly favored and has the approval of a Hansi Flick, who would be delighted to have an striker of his characteristics. So far this season, he's played 23 games, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

Marcus Rashford is appealing at Barça as a possible replacement for Lewandowski in the coming years, but he's certainly not the only option. Many forwards' agents are in contact with the Catalonian team trying to offer their players. One is Jonathan David, who will be free and, although he's liked, he doesn't quite have general approval.

Marcus Rashford could become the next market surprise for an FC Barcelona that has gotten serious about finding a replacement for Lewandowski.
