Fermín López's case isn't over: neither Chelsea nor PSG, an offer arrives from...

A new offer for the FC Barcelona academy graduate arrives at Camp Nou: there is already a response

The summer transfer window has been full of rumors surrounding Fermín López, one of the great talents at FC Barcelona. The Andalusian footballer, who has established himself as a key piece in Hansi Flick's system, has rejected several proposals to leave during August.  Both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain tried to convince him with multi-million euro offers, but the answer was clear:  Fermín always wanted to stay at Barça

A closed market in Spain, but not worldwide

Last Monday, the transfer window closed in LaLiga and it seemed that Fermín's future was completely solved. However, the transfer window hasn't closed everywhere. There are leagues where clubs can still make signings and take advantage of this to put pressure on the big European teams.

This context has reignited speculation around the culer midfielder... who  in just one year has gone from being a youth player with occasional minutes to becoming an almost indispensable footballer for Hansi Flick.

An unexpected and multi-million euro offer

In the last few hours, it has emerged that  there's a new offeror insisting on signing Fermín López. The offer would even be higher than those from Chelsea and PSG, reaching a figure of around  €70-80 million (76-88 million USD)

This is an amount that could shake any European club, considering the delicate financial situation at FC Barcelona.

Saudi Arabia on the prowl

The interest doesn't come from Europe, but from a destination that's gaining more and more strength on the international stage:  Saudi Arabia. There, the transfer window doesn't close until Wednesday, September 10 at 11:59 p.m., which means there's still time for moves to happen.

Saudi clubs are convinced that  they can convince both Barça and the player himself with an irresistible offer. In addition, the sporting and financial project they offer is usually very attractive for European soccer stars.

Barça is clear about it

Despite external pressure and the magnitude of the offer, Barça's response is forceful. According to "Madrid-Barcelona", the club  has no intention of selling Fermín López. The reason is simple:  with the market already closed in Spain, it would be impossible to sign a reliable replacement

Fermín is considered one of the pillars of Hansi Flick's new project and the goal is for him to keep growing at Spotify Camp Nou.  Barça, therefore, closes ranks around its young talent, shielding him from the multi-million euro temptations coming from Saudi Arabia. Anyone who wants him now will have to pay his  €500 million (544 million USD) release clause.
