Fermín clarifies his relationship with Gavi and responds to the rumor: 'Do they not speak because of their girlfriends?'

The rumor is out there, and Fermín has been forced to provide explanations

Barcelona's locker room has always been a space where different generations, personalities, and realities coexist. The emergence of young players like Gavi or Fermín López has brought freshness to the team. However, it has also caused all kinds of comments in the Barça environment.

In recent weeks, there has been speculation in Barcelona about an alleged lack of harmony between the two. That would have even affected their relationship off the field. It has even been said that they don't speak to each other.

Rumors suggested that both had stopped talking to each other. The tension was due to an issue unrelated to soccer: differences between their partners, who according to close sources can't stand each other and would have brought the conflict to the footballers.

In this context, Fermín decided to step forward and clarify in an interview with Mundo Deportivo what is true about everything that's being said.

Rumors that don't stop in Barcelona

For weeks, the idea that the relationship between Gavi and Fermín was going through a rough patch had taken hold in Barça discussions. There was even speculation that the discomfort between them could carry over onto the field. However, the player from Huelva wanted to clear up doubts and speak clearly about what is really happening with his teammate.

Fermín didn't hide that the rumors affect him: "It's been said that I don't speak to Gavi and that we're distant, but that's not true. We spend every day together in training, we play together, and we get along well. Everything else is just comments that have no real basis," he explained.

Fermín speaks clearly about Gavi

In the interview given to Mundo Deportivo, the midfielder wanted to emphasize that there is no football or personal problem between him and Gavi.

"What happens is that sometimes things are made up. Gavi and I have a normal relationship, like the one that can exist between two teammates. We help each other on the field, we compete together, and that's what's important," he stated firmly.

When asked about the rumors pointing to friction between their partners, Fermín simply downplayed the matter:

"Those are things that are said outside and have nothing to do with us. What happens outside soccer doesn't affect our relationship. We're focused on Barça and on giving our best to the team," he assured.

They're still friends

Far from the image of a breakup that had been painted, Fermín made it clear that he keeps a sincere friendship with Gavi, even though each has his own personal circle.

"I've shared many moments with Gavi, and he's a great teammate. It's normal that sometimes we're not seen together in everything, but that doesn't mean there's not a good relationship."

"People need to understand that we're young, with our own lives outside. On the field we're friends and we're one hundred percent with Barça," he pointed out.

Fermín's words seek to put an end to the rumors and bring calm back to a Barça environment always prone to fueling stories. Despite what's been said in Barcelona about their partners, both keep their friendship and commitment to the club intact.
