FC Barcelona is working to solve several matters during the final week of the transfer window. Deco isn't wasting any time and has gone full speed ahead to finalize as soon as possible a double operation that would provide enough "fair play" to register the remaining players.
Deco has found his main ally in Italian side Como to carry out a double operation that he considers very beneficial. Negotiations have been ongoing for some time and, now, they're in the final stage to complete the deal. Relations are very good, as was shown in the last Gamper, and an imminent agreement is within reach.
Both are going to Como
For some time now, Como has gone full speed ahead to secure the signing of Iñaki Peña. The Alicante native is highly regarded by Cesc Fàbregas and fits his play style. However, the financial offer wasn't as good as desired.

Given that scenario, Barça has opted for an alternative: renew his contract until 2027 and loan him out. He'll leave with a purchase option, with the idea of being able to stay there and build his career.
He won't be the only one. As "Madrid-Barcelona" already revealed, Como also showed interest in academy product Héctor Fort. They've been following him for some time and Fàbregas likes him a lot. Last winter, they offered €8 million to sign him permanently, but it didn't convince Barça.
Now, the scenario is different. "La Vanguardia" has confirmed that Héctor Fort will follow the same path as his teammate Iñaki Peña, heading to Como on loan. There, he hopes to find the playing time he so desires and hasn't had under Hansi Flick.
It's key
Barça didn't expect to reach this situation with just 1 week left before the transfer window closes. So far, the auditing firm hasn't given its approval for the sale of VIP boxes for €100 million, and everything is more complicated than desired.

Three players still need to be registered, whose approval could come through three departures. In other words, for Gerard Martín, Szczesny, and Bardghji to play for Barça, Oriol Romeu, Iñaki Peña, and Héctor Fort must leave.
Fortunately, it seems everything will work out well.
