Real Madrid beats Mallorca with just enough... and signs Dean Huijsen to fix what doesn't work
Bittersweet victory for Real Madrid against Mallorca (2-1) at Santiago Bernabéu. They won, yes. But they didn't convince.
The team once again left doubts at the back, conceded an avoidable goal, and suffered more than necessary. That's why the big headline of the night wasn't the result... but the new signing: Dean Huijsen is already a Real Madrid player.

With the homework done in LaLiga, Florentino Pérez has activated the Club World Cup mode and has closed the signing of the Dutch center-back for 58 million euros. He comes from Bournemouth, although his registration belongs to Juventus, and he will be available for the big international event. The agreement is total and the announcement is imminent.
Goals from Mbappé and Jacobo... but many doubts at the back
Mbappé scored again—and now has 28 goals in the League—after an excellent individual play in which he outplayed several Mallorca defenders. It was the goal that neutralized the initial advantage of the Balearic team achieved in the 10th minute by Valjent.
Real Madrid insisted throughout the second half looking for the winning goal, which didn't come until stoppage time. Jacobo, in the 94th minute, achieved the saving goal for a Real Madrid that thus postponed Barça's title celebration. Flick's team could have been crowned champions if Real Madrid hadn't won today.
Jacobo keeps asking for minutes based on soccer and boldness. The young defender once again proved that he has a place in the first team. Bernabéu gave him an ovation.

Huijsen arrives: Florentino's new Van Dijk
Huijsen's signing, which became known halfway through the match, is interpreted at the club as a coup. He is 19 years old, 6 ft. 5 in. (1.95 m) tall, good in the air, and plays the ball out with judgment. In Valdebebas, they already talk about him as the new Van Dijk.
Xabi Alonso has expressly requested him, and the club has acted quickly. The message is clear: they don't want surprises in the Club World Cup.
With Rüdiger exhausted, Alaba injured, and Carvajal just out of his injury, Madrid adds three points... and a center-back with a future. It takes away Barça's chance to be champion today. They will have to wait until tomorrow, although for that, they are obliged to win in Cornellà.
