The tie in Vallecas has upset Tomás Roncero. He has blamed a Real Madrid player for the stumble that prevents Real Madrid from being the leader already.
On other occasions, Tomás Roncero had unleashed his anger against Aurélien Tchouaméni. This time, he's absolved him of responsibility, although he was partly involved in some of the Rayo goals.
Tomás Roncero Calls for a Defensive Transfer
In his collaboration with Cadena SER, Tomás Roncero was clear and straight. He's demanded a defensive transfer in the winter market.
"Real Madrid gave away the first half. After the 3-2, Madrid entered a dangerous point of overconfidence. The team is suffering a lot and, in January, they need to sign for defense."
Roncero praised Rodrygo's performance and attitude: "He has unleashed. The game changed when he went on the left; he's very good there."
He insisted: "Put him there when Vinícius and Mbappé aren't around. It's Rodrygo's best game this season. He's also in his best position and scored a great goal."
Roncero also justified Ancelotti's decision to leave Vinícius on the bench: "The other day, the schedule was rushed because it was a final. He played more than he should have, and there's fear he might get injured. He's been saved for Doha (Intercontinental Cup)."
He ended up criticizing Arda Güler, who contributed little to Real Madrid's offensive play in Vallecas. In his defense, however, he did provide two assists.
Roncero raises many doubts about this player who demands a spot among the starters: "I've never seen Güler play intensively. He plays very comfortably. If he doesn't bite, he can't play for Madrid."
Arda Güler is in a very delicate situation. He arrived at Real Madrid with the aura of being the phenomenon of the coming years, but he's stalled.
Is Arda Güler Stalling?
His first season offered a promising result. He barely played 10 incomplete games and scored 6 goals. This season, he already has 13 appearances in LaLiga and has only scored one goal.
Very little for what is expected of a Real Madrid forward. The paradox, however, is that, when Güler answers the call from his national team, he excels. What's happening here?
He is Only the Second Substitute for Ancelotti
With a starting forward line formed by Vinícius, Mbappé, and Rodrygo, Güler is the second substitute. He's ahead of Endrick but behind Brahim.
He considers that, at 19, it doesn't benefit him at all to spend more minutes on the bench than on the field. This is why he has asked the club for a solution.
Güler knows that Jose Mourinho, coach of Fenerbahçe, his previous team, has requested his loan from Florentino until the end of the season. Even so, Ancelotti doesn't accept it.
He wants to cover his back. Although he doesn't see Güler as a starter on his team, he needs quality on the bench in case of injuries or poor performance.
Güler Requests a Loan to Fenerbahçe
But Güler isn't interested in the current situation. He prefers to return on loan to his former team to finish the season and return to Bernabéu in style.
He believes this solution is better for him than continuing on the bench waiting for opportunities that only come in dribs and drabs.
Florentino will have to make a decision on the case before the end of the year.
