Tomás Roncero Explodes after the Events in Real Madrid-Rayo: ‘For Much Less…’

The journalist shows his anger over a refereeing decision that has harmed Real Madrid.

Real Madrid has managed to secure three important points in a tough match against Rayo Vallecano. The result ended 2 to 1, in favor of Carlo Ancelotti's team, but it could have been more lopsided from the start. This is what Tomás Roncero is clear about, as he used his X account to "denounce" a new refereeing scandal at Bernabéu.

Tomás Roncero calls for a penalty for Real Madrid

The action went practically unnoticed in the television broadcast, but the reality is that the referee missed a clear penalty on Vinícius. It all happened in the first minute of the match, when the Real Madrid forward entered the opponent's area and was brought down by Lejeune. The defender committed a foul that should have been a penalty.

The image leaves no room for doubt. In the first minute, Lejeune stepped on Vinícius's ankle inside Rayo Vallecano's area, so it should have been a penalty. It was not called by Hernández Maeso initially, nor was he alerted by the VAR, led by Quintero González.

On his X account, Tomás Roncero didn't hold back: "For much less than this, Madrid was robbed of four points against Atleti and Osasuna".

Anger in Real Madrid

It's understandable: Real Madrid is very angry, despite having secured the three points against Rayo Vallecano. Once again, a refereeing error has harmed Ancelotti's team. It's not the first matchday this has happened, although fortunately, it didn't end up reflecting on the scoreboard this time.

There is a certain fear in Real Madrid, as there have been many LaLiga matchdays where they have been disadvantaged. Espanyol, Atlético, Osasuna and now Rayo Vallecano. Beyond all understanding, the VAR was not used to analyze the clear penalty suffered by Vinícius, which in other matches has been called favorably.

Real Madrid is very clear: a stomp inside the area is a penalty, no matter how much Lejeune didn't intend to do it. The whistle is being used for that this season in Spain, but not for the whites. There are reasons to be angry despite the victory, as Tomás Roncero has well explained.
