Tomás Roncero doesn't congratulate Barça for winning LaLiga and explains the reason: '8.4M'

The journalist sends a clear message after FC Barcelona has won their 28th League

Barça has been crowned LaLiga champion after defeating Espanyol (0-2), obtaining the title two matchdays before the competition ends. Although Real Madrid has officially congratulated the Catalan team, Tomás Roncero has not. The well-known journalist from El Chiringuito has been blunt and explained the reason on his X account, formerly known as Twitter.

On his X account, he wrote: "I don't plan to congratulate a single Barça league until Justice makes it clear that for 17 years the culé titles were tainted by the Negreira Case scandal. I'm not a hypocrite. Their victories are tainted with 8.4 million euros. Unacceptable and disgusting".

Minutes after the match between Espanyol and Barcelona ended, Tomás Roncero shared several images with the controversy of the match. Specifically, he referred to Cabrera's expulsion nearing the end of the second half, for an elbow to Lamine Yamal's stomach.

On two occasions, Roncero shared the words of Manolo González, the Espanyol coach, regarding this action: "We're ruining soccer".

In this regard, retweeting his colleague José Luis Sánchez, he reminded that the same VAR referee who considered Cabrera's expulsion stayed silent in the Espanyol-Madrid match. Back then, the same referee did not call the match referee to review a tackle from behind by Romero on Mbappé, which would have ended with the defender's expulsion.

Tomás Roncero couldn't have been clearer: this league is still tainted by the Negreira Case scandal. At least in his opinion. He has been blunt: until a judge clarifies everything, he doesn't plan to congratulate FC Barcelona for any title they might win. His stance has caused a lot of reaction on social media...
