Tomás Roncero Denounces What Will Happen in Barça-Madrid: ‘A Contaminated Final’

Roncero doesn't hold back in the face of the latest episode that occurred before the Copa del Rey Clásico

The Barça-Madrid Clásico, once again, is marked by controversy. After some unexpected statements from González Fuertes, the referee who will be in the VAR, the white club expressed their anger and even considered not showing up for the Clásico. The anger was (and is) total, to the point that many have publicly shown their outrage with what happened.

Tomás Roncero has been the latest to do so, using his X account to openly criticize what has happened. The journalist didn't hesitate to share the cover of AS, featuring both González Fuertes and De Burgos Bengoetxea, under the title: "A Contaminated Final".

This is the perception from Madrid. The Copa del Rey final against Barcelona is contaminated. It is not understood how the chosen refereeing body is so clearly anti-Madrid, which could end up deciding a title. A change of referees has been requested, but the Technical Committee of Referees has ignored it. After an intervention from the CSD, it has been decided to attend the Clásico, but the anger is total...

Barça-Madrid: Copa del Rey is Decided with a New Clásico

The big day has arrived. Today, Saturday, April 26, starting at 10:00 p.m., FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will face each other in the 2025 Copa del Rey final. The La Cartuja stadium in Seville will be the stage for a new Clásico that promises strong emotions, maximum tension, and a trophy that could mark the course of the season for both teams.

The expectation is total. Not only because it's a Clásico, but because it's the opportunity to close wounds or open new ones. Real Madrid will seek to reaffirm their dominance in Spanish soccer, while Barça wants to confirm their resurgence under Flick's leadership. Additionally, Seville will once again vibrate with a final full of passion, colorful stands, and a unique atmosphere that only a duel of this caliber can offer.

The atmosphere is that of a final, but tainted by the statements of a refereeing body that generates doubts. The Barça-Madrid will decide a new Copa del Rey title, but from the capital, there is distrust, and Tomás Roncero, in particular, is angry.
