FIFA and Real Madrid have gotten much closer in recent weeks. With The Best awards, the top international organization wants to make up to the white club for the disappointment of the Ballon d'Or.
Real Madrid's participation in the Club World Cup organized by FIFA, something Ancelotti himself denied, has worked to improve relations between the two parties.
Tonight, FIFA is presenting The Best awards and Real Madrid is set to be the main protagonist of the night, especially in the men's category.
This time, fans' votes will have the same weight as captains' and coaches', as well as those of the media. Spain's vote corresponds to Marca newspaper.
Real Madrid is vying with Vinícius for The Best award for the best player of the year. Also competing are Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal, Fede Valverde, Kylian Mbappé, and Jude Bellingham. Six of the eleven finalists are from Real Madrid.
This time there's no doubt that the award will go to Vinícius. In the women's category, with seven finalists from Barça, Real Madrid has no candidates.
Carlo Ancelotti is also in the running for the best coach award, competing with Luis De la Fuente, Lionel Scaloni, Pep Guardiola, and Xabi Alonso.
Meanwhile, Andriy Lunin is vying for the best goalkeeper in the world award. He competes with David Raya, Ederson, Emiliano Martínez, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Mike Maignan, and Unai Simón.
