Real Madrid has been the subject of an unexpected move from Saudi Arabia that could have completely changed the map of European soccer, as revealed by "Defensa Central". The main character, as could only be the case, is Mbappé, the franchise player for Xabi Alonso's team and one of the undisputed icons of world sports.
Huge offer for Mbappé
The interest comes from Al-Hilal, a club owned by the sovereign fund PIF, known for its multi-million euro signings in recent years. The Saudi entity is determined to bring in another superstar and believes that Kylian Mbappé would be the perfect piece to raise its league to a new media and competitive level.
The Frenchman, who arrived at Bernabéu in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer after his contract with PSG ended, then signed a deal until 2029. From day one, he became the leader in the locker room and the face of the new white project. His first season has made it clear that he is a player capable of making a difference in any scenario: decisive goals, assists, and crucial performances both in LaLiga and in the Champions League.

The Saudi proposal, according to the aforementioned report, would be around €350 million (about $380 million). A truly record-breaking figure that, in any other context, could tempt any club. However, at Real Madrid, there is no financial urgency that could push for a sale. Florentino Pérez has designed a long-term project in which Mbappé is the cornerstone, both in sports and institutionally.
Madrid, firm
In the offices at Valdebebas, the offer was received with surprise, but also with the calm of those who know they have the best player in the world under contract and fully identified with the club. Internal discussions focused on assessing the impact of a possible sale... and on gauging the player's own position.
Regarding Mbappé, the situation is clear. About to start his second season as a Madridist, he not only feels integrated into the team, but he has also forged a truly special connection with the fans. Xabi Alonso's project motivates him, the possibility of winning his first Champions League entices him, and the idea of leaving right now, no matter how high the offer, is not part of his plans.

The outcome has come with a strong message. Mbappé has personally communicated that he isn't considering leaving and that his only goal is to keep wearing white. Real Madrid's response to Al-Hilal has been just as emphatic. The only scenario for negotiation would be the full payment of the release clause, set at €1 billion (about $1.09 billion).
Thus, the operation has been closed before it even began. Mbappé will remain untouchable and the standard-bearer of the new era at Santiago Bernabéu. Saudi Arabia will have to look for its next dream elsewhere.
