Rodri says 'Yes' to Florentino and Real Madrid sets its signing machinery in motion

Rodri wants to play for Real Madrid and has already informed Florentino

Real Madrid is already thinking about the future of its midfield. Thinking about finding a successor for Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. That's why Rodri Hernández's name has once again become prominent in Florentino Pérez's office.

Manchester City's midfielder, considered one of the best in the world in his position, has been admired for some time. Now the situation has changed.

For the first time, the player has clearly shown his willingness to wear white. Rodri has said "yes" to Madrid and that gesture changes everything.

A medium-term operation

At Valdebebas, they're not considering an immediate signing. The squad's structure is quite defined for this season and there are no urgent needs in the holding midfielder position. That doesn't mean the club is standing still.

On the contrary. The plan is already underway and is directly aimed at the summer of 2026.

Rodri's contract with Manchester City ends in 2027. That allows Madrid to maneuver with time and logic. Instead of paying an astronomical amount now, Florentino wants to repeat the formula he used with Kroos back in the day.

Wait until the last year of the contract and offer a reasonable amount, avoiding a bidding war.

The player's camp views the strategy favorably. Rodri has won everything with City. He doesn't hide that he's attracted by the idea of returning to Spain and doing so as a key figure for Real Madrid.

His maturity, authority, and playing style fit perfectly with what the club is looking for.

Kroos's successor

The sporting management is certain. If there's a player who can fill the role Kroos has left vacant in the medium term, it's Rodri.

He has composure, leadership, and an exceptional vision of the game. He's not just a destroyer. He's a mastermind who controls the tempo and always makes the right choice.

Additionally, his physical profile would even allow him to share the field with Camavinga or Tchouaméni, if necessary. Rodri isn't coming to break anything, but to add. That versatility is also viewed favorably by Xabi Alonso.

Florentino makes a move

Madrid has already taken the first steps. The player's camp has been contacted, his willingness has been tested, and a financial study has begun to assess the operation. Everything is moving quietly, but with conviction.

Madrid knows it can't fail in the generational transition of the midfield. If Rodri has given his approval, there's no excuse.

Florentino is certain that it's now or never. The Kroos 2.0 plan has already begun.
