New Mbappé case, from PSG to Real Madrid for free: Luis Enrique already has his replacement

Al-Khelaïfi is furious: new Kylian Mbappé case in Paris. He is leaving for free to play for Real Madrid

Paris-Saint Germain didn't expect it, but next season looks set to experience a new Mbappé case. This time, all eyes are on goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract in the French capital expires in 2026 and who has no intention of renewing.  Florentino sees him as the perfect future replacement for Courtois, to the point that he has already made a move for the Italian.

Donnarumma, target Real Madrid

At 26 years old and as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Donnarumma is highly sought after. He has attracted interest from several of Europe's top clubs, but  where he'd like to play is at Real Madrid. The main problem is that Courtois still has a career ahead of him and it seems complicated for both goalkeepers to share the goal for a long time.

What Real Madrid wants is to make a smooth transition in its goal. Courtois will turn 34 next season and he doesn't have much time left in his career. Meanwhile, Gianluigi Donnarumma would offer more guarantees for the future.

If they manage to pull off this move for zero euros, Madrid would strengthen its goal for the coming years. Gianluigi Donnarumma is on track to win the award for best goalkeeper this season, having won the treble with PSG.

PSG already has a replacement

Knowing that this could happen,  PSG has moved quickly to solve this issue. They take it for granted that Gianluigi Donnarumma won't continue next season and have already closed the signing of his replacement: Frenchman  Lucas Chevalier.

He leaves Lille for  €55 million (55 million euros) including agreed bonuses. He has signed a contract for the next 5 seasons, with the intention of being the guardian of the goal in Paris.

The information coming from France is clear: the idea Luis Enrique has is to hand over the goal to Lucas Chevalier. He arrives to be the starter ahead of a Gianluigi Donnarumma who has decided to leave Paris-Saint Germain.

The question now is which team will be Donnarumma's next. Real Madrid appears to be in pole position, with the Italian delighted at the idea of guarding the goal at Santiago Bernabéu. However, right now nothing is finalized, with his contract ending in 2026 and Courtois's future hanging in the air.
