Official, Nico Paz has already informed Real Madrid after the rumors: 'I'll play in...'

Como has received a €40 million offer to immediately sell Madrid's homegrown player

Real Madrid decided not to exercise the buy-back clause agreed upon in the sale of Nico Paz to Como. Over the next few years, it will still have the opportunity to bring him back for very low amounts... but this isn't stopping major European clubs from trying to sign him. In recent hours, a huge offer from Tottenham has come to light, as they try to convince the Italian club to carry out this deal.

Tottenham go after Nico Paz

Gianluca Di Marzio has released that Tottenham has submitted a €40 million ($43.6 million) offer to sign Nico Paz. However, Como's response has been very clear: "He's not for sale and, if he leaves, it'll be for much more than that price".

Como hasn't messed around regarding Paz's possible departure. €40 million ($43.6 million) isn't enough, as he's been valued at €70 million ($76.4 million) to let him go. To start negotiations, Tottenham and any other club would have to begin by putting €60 million ($65.5 million) on the table.

In his transfer to Italy, Real Madrid kept 50% of the future sale of Nico Paz. This means Como would only receive half of what it gets from the transfer if he ends up leaving. Of those €40 million ($43.6 million), both clubs would split €20 million ($21.8 million) each. That's why they consider this offer insufficient, believing the Spanish-Argentine is worth much more.

Nico Paz reassures Real Madrid

Madrid-Barcelona has learned that, in recent hours, a conversation has taken place between Nico Paz's camp and Real Madrid. In this conversation, absolute calm has been conveyed, indicating that the footballer's priority is to return to Santiago Bernabéu someday.

Como has rejected that €40 million ($43.6 million) offer for the youth academy graduate, while Nico also has no intention of playing for Tottenham. It's not an option he finds attractive and he prefers to stay this season and continue developing in Italy.

"I'll play for Como", this is the message that has reached Real Madrid. He has no intention of leaving and hopes to keep growing and deliver an even better level this season. He believes the best option for his career is to keep learning from a good coach like Cesc Fàbregas.

This way, Real Madrid already knows. Nico Paz doesn't plan to play for Tottenham, while its offer is still insufficient: it needs to be raised to almost double.
