Manu Carreño has spoken on the latest episode of "El Larguero", a show he hosts on Cadena SER. The journalist has shown that he is very angry about the way Barça is acting regarding the signing of Nico Williams. He has been clear and forceful, using a hypothetical departure of Pedri to Real Madrid as an example, trying to show culer fans how they'd feel if this happened.

"Se equivoca en las formas"
Speaking on "El Larguero", Manu Carreño asked: "Can you imagine Madrid saying they've reached an agreement with Pedri before paying the release clause?" In this regard, the journalist continued by saying: "What would they say in Barcelona if that happened...?"
Finally, he concluded: "Where Barça is wrong is in the way they're handling things, and this isn't the first summer..."
Real Madrid won't pay Pedri's release clause
In any case, one thing is clear for Real Madrid: there's no intention to pay Pedri's release clause. Even though he'd fit Xabi Alonso's playing style, the Canary Islander isn't part of the plans, much less for the €1 billion (1.000 millones de euros) it would cost.
What Manu Carreño has done is use an example to show culer fans how they'd feel if this happened to them. In Bilbao, there's a lot of anger about the way culers are handling Nico Williams's departure, acting behind their backs and trying to pay his release clause whenever they want.
Betrays Real Madrid for Barça
Even though the younger Williams has always dreamed of wearing the Real Madrid jersey, it won't be possible. His camp tried to bring him closer at the start of this summer, but Florentino's response was clear: "Not interested". There are many left wingers at Santiago Bernabéu and the Navarrese forward wasn't part of the plans.

After that definitive rejection, Nico Williams has reactivated his move to FC Barcelona. In the coming days, supposedly, the culer side is expected to pay his release clause. Including the corresponding CPI, the amount rises to €62 million (62 millones de euros). Athletic Club plans to oversee the operation together with LaLiga to try to prevent a possible registration error. It looks like it's going to be a long summer on this issue, while Madrid is clear that it won't get involved.
