Manchester United has little time left, but it has launched an ambitious operation. Since Old Trafford has already spent more than €200 million (over $215 million USD) this summer, it wants to put the finishing touch in the remaining week. Rúben Amorim has identified his next target at Real Madrid, and it's not just anyone, as he is willing to put €80 million ($86 million USD) on Florentino's table.
Surprise target
By practicing a playing style with the 3-4-2-1 system, Amorim believes it fits perfectly at Manchester United. He has been consulting different profiles, but he thinks that Eduardo Camavinga is the one who can do it best at Old Trafford.
Camavinga provides everything the English team is looking for in a midfielder: a player with energy, good judgment, and who brings balance.
It's true that Manchester United has been considering various options in England, such as Carlos Baleba (Brighton) or Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), but the definitive choice is Eduardo Camavinga.
€80 million
"Fichajes.net" has stated that at Real Madrid they believe the Frenchman is not for sale. Nevertheless, everything could change with the unbelievable proposal being prepared at Old Trafford: €80 million ($86 million USD) to take him right away.

With this amount, Real Madrid would secure a great profit after what was invested in 2021 and would have the possibility to reinvest the margin in other strategic signings. Although Xabi Alonso values him positively, the truth is that the Frenchman is not untouchable for the new coach.
Many physical problems
Eduardo Camavinga, just 22 years old, is going through a stage marked by his enormous talent... and by injuries. He is currently dealing with an ankle issue, and the start of the season has caught him with a new absence, which is causing concern at Real Madrid about his physical reliability.
Since 2021, the Frenchman has missed 46 matches due to various ailments. The total number of days spent off the field has reached 159 days just in the 2024/25 season (2024/25), where he suffered everything from muscle and tendon tears to knee injuries, which kept him away during crucial phases of the campaign. In the previous season, 2023/24, he already accumulated 56 days out and 10 matches missed, due to issues ranging from sprains to ligament injuries.

Last season was especially delicate. A complete tear of the left adductor tendon, suffered in April 2025, ended his chances of competing even in the Copa del Rey or the Club World Cup. Moreover, that injury was the last in a streak that kept him out at decisive moments, affecting not only the team but also his sporting value: his market value dropped from €100 million ($108 million USD) to €60 million ($65 million USD).
Xabi Alonso faces a double challenge: to recover Camavinga to have more depth in midfield, and to do so without exposing the player to new relapses. In a team as demanding as Real Madrid, the healthiest version of the Frenchman is essential to aspire to everything.
With Manchester United's offer, there is now an important decision to be made...
