Maldini Drops the Bomb about Rodrygo Goes’s Future: ‘He’s…’

The renowned analyst from Spain speaks clearly about Rodrygo and doesn't hold back

Real Madrid is still alive in its participation in the Club World Cup, having secured qualification for the round of 16. So far, the balance is positive, with two victories against Pachuca and Salzburg, and a draw against Al-Hilal. Xabi Alonso keeps doing his job and this tournament is helping him make key decisions to build what will be the squad for next season.

Maldini: Critical with Rodrygo Goes

After the first three matches of the competition, Maldini has had enough of Rodrygo Goes. The renowned Spanish analyst has been very critical of the Brazilian's performance, even stating that "he's been sentenced." He has played only 88 minutes in these games, being in the starting line-up only in the competition's opener against the Arabs.

Maldini started by saying: "Watch out for what's happening to Rodrygo Goes. That is, Rodrygo started as a starter on the first day, he hasn't appeared again."

In this regard, he continued: "If he doesn't play even for a while and with a match practically decided... The one who's been sentenced is him and I think Real Madrid will have to look for a way out for him."

Rodrygo Goes: One foot out of Madrid

Rodrygo Goes's days are numbered at Real Madrid, or at least that's what it seems. At 24 years old, the Brazilian striker isn't part of Xabi Alonso's main plans, who's taken over the white bench with clear ideas and an offensive rotation where Rodrygo doesn't have the role he desired.

His influence in big matches has been decreasing throughout last season. The arrival of young players like Arda Güler and the signing of Franco Mastantuono, as well as the role of Brahim Díaz, will completely displace him in the offensive scheme.

According to sources close to Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez has already set an asking price: 90 million euros. This isn't a decision made lightly, but a strategic move to balance the books after an ambitious transfer window.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich have already shown strong interest, willing to bet on the Brazilian's talent. If the right offer arrives, the transfer would be completed upon returning from the Club World Cup.

Rodrygo Goes's future seems far from Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid is preparing for a new era and it seems he won't be part of it.
