Leverkusen Offers €50M to Real Madrid for Xabi Alonso’s Favorite: There’s a Surprise

Erik ten Hag has requested his signing and could leave Real Madrid to join Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen is preparing a bomb in the transfer market and has set their sights on a footballer from Real Madrid: Brahim Díaz. According to Madrid-Barcelona, the German side wants to bring in the Moroccan international as a direct replacement for Florian Wirtz, who will leave this summer for the Premier League.

Wirtz's future is decided. The German attacking midfielder will head to Liverpool for about €130 million (about $141 million), a record figure that will allow Leverkusen to reinforce themselves with guarantees to keep competing at the highest level. The new coach of the German team, Erik ten Hag, has been clear since his arrival: He wants Brahim Díaz as a key piece of his project

Ten Hag requests the signing of Brahim Díaz

Ten Hag believes that the Málaga native has everything his team needs to keep the spark and creativity in the final third of the field. His vision, dribbling, imbalance, and ability to play between the lines are qualities that fit perfectly into the system the Dutch coach wants to implement at Leverkusen. In addition, Brahim has shown this season at Real Madrid that he can perform at the highest level, even though he hasn't been an undisputed starter.

Bayer Leverkusen is willing to put €50 million (about $54 million) on the table to convince Real Madrid. They have the necessary financial muscle after the sale of Wirtz and believe this is the ideal time to go after a great talent like Brahim.

Xabi Alonso is key: Brahim Díaz won't leave Real Madrid

However, not everything will be so easy for the Bundesliga champion. The main obstacle is found at the white house itself. With the arrival of Xabi Alonso  to the Real Madrid bench, the situation has completely changed. The Basque coach  has an excellent opinion of Brahim and considers him a key piece for his new project. He believes he can be very useful due to his versatility, defensive work, and ability to break lines.

In addition, at Valdebebas, they value his performance this season very positively: He has played 51 official matches, scored 6 goals, and provided 7 assists in all competitions. His involvement, professionalism, and commitment haven't gone unnoticed by anyone at the club.

Despite Leverkusen's interest and the lucrative financial offer on the way, Real Madrid's decision is firm: Brahim Díaz is not for sale. Xabi Alonso has already conveyed his desire to keep the footballer, and both the sporting management and Florentino Pérez are aligned with their coach.

In conclusion, Bayer Leverkusen had high hopes for the operation, but Brahim Díaz won't leave Real Madrid. He will stay at Santiago Bernabéu as one of the important pieces of the new project led by Xabi Alonso.
