Haaland or Wirtz: Florentino Made Final Decision, Surprise in Madrid

Florentino Pérez is preparing for a very busy 2025 transfer market: there will be changes at Real Madrid.

At Real Madrid, it is clear that planning has to be done ahead of time, especially when there are large outlays involved. In 2025, Florentino Pérez's idea has always been to make a big transfer to complete the squad, but now it seems far away. There are other priorities, such as strengthening the defense, bringing in two full-backs and a centre-back.

Defensa Central has revealed that Florentino's conviction is clear and forceful. At the moment, neither Haaland nor Florian Wirtz. They are players whose outlay would be very high and wouldn't have a permanent place in the squad: the front attack positions are very crowded and it is not a priority to reinforce them.

Haaland has a 150 million euro buy-out clause in his contract: he is very popular, but the reality is that he has no place at Madrid. The forward line is made up of Mbappé and Vinícius Jr, while the rest are fighting for a place on the wing that the Norwegian striker couldn't fill.

Florian Wirtz's case is different. He is the priority that Florentino had set for himself in the planning for next season, but it is complicated. He has a price tag of around 130 million, but his position doesn't exist in Madrid's starting eleven, at least not under the current coach. Everything will depend on what happens with Ancelotti (who, right now, will not leave) and whether there's a major departure.

Florian Wirtz, far from Madrid

Bayern have proven on more than one occasion that they are able to attract the best talents in German soccer. Florian Wirtz is seen as a key piece for the future of the club, especially after the departure of players such as Müller, who will soon have to give way to new generations. Although Barça and Real Madrid have been interested, Bayern seem to have taken the lead in this race.

Recently, there were statements confirming Bayern's interest, and everything points to the German being able to follow in the footsteps of other talents who have ended up at the Allianz Arena. Although Barça and Madrid have the financial capacity to compete for big transfers, it seems that, in this case, the Munich team has moved with greater speed and determination.

Unfortunately for Florentino, it seems clear that neither Haaland nor Wirtz will end up wearing the Real Madrid jersey.
