Florentino has the Final Say: €20M for Real Madrid in Imminent Decision

The president of Real Madrid will soon have to decide whether to bring him back for the cause or accept his departure.

Florentino Pérez knows he needs to make moves for what's coming. With Alphonso Davies off the table, there's a need to strengthen the full-back position with another player, and all eyes are on Miguel Gutiérrez. Now in Girona, the youth player has sparked the interest of multiple big European clubs, his future is a complete mystery and the only certainty is that he won't continue at Montilivi next season.

In this scenario, Real Madrid must act if they don't want Miguel Gutiérrez to slip away. Florentino Pérez has the option to bring him back for just 8 million euros and then decide whether to keep him or find him a new destination. At Girona, he has a 40 million euro release clause, and if he changes teams, the merengue team would receive half, with 20 million at stake.

In this regard, Florentino knows that Miguel Gutiérrez is of interest to several powerful European teams, such as Manchester United. There is a commitment for the youth player from Real Madrid  to finish this season at Girona and leave in the summer. That will be a key moment, as the player's definitive future will be at stake, potentially losing control over him permanently.

Florentino Pérez has several options for Real Madrid

With the option of Davies completely off the table, Real Madrid is clear that they need to strengthen their left flank. They will make an important signing, but Florentino Pérez has several options. The option of Miguel Gutiérrez for 8 million is one of them, being quite a bargain in the market, but it's not the only one.

Madrid-Barcelona has learned that they are closely following the case of Theo Hernández, another former Real Madrid player, who could leave Milan. He is 27 years old, his contract ends in 2026, and he could leave for a figure close to 40 million euros.

In general terms, Theo Hernández is much more convincing than Miguel Gutiérrez, but the decision hasn't been made yet. In this regard, Florentino doesn't intend to make the decision immediately, having other left-backs on his list that can't be released yet.

At Real Madrid, for now, total calm. Florentino Pérez has been hurt by not being able to secure the free arrival of Davies, but there are more alternatives. The options of Miguel Gutiérrez or Theo Hernández are very appealing, although there is time ahead, and the decision won't be immediate.
