Discarded by Florentino Pérez, He's Going to Manchester United for €20M: Bye to Madrid

The president doesn't want him on his team and the English giant is willing to pay a fortune for him.

Trained at Real Madrid, his name has been on Florentino Pérez's options for him to return. However, the decision has already been made: Álvaro Carreras isn't of any interest. At 21, he's standing out this season at Benfica and will leave for just 20 million euros, with Manchester United interested in taking him immediately.

United has decided to exercise the buyback option to recover Álvaro Carreras, according to Defensa Central. To retrieve the Spanish full-back, they'll only have to pay about 20 "rocks" that Madrid has no intention of shelling out. No moves are expected in winter and the plan is clear: finishing the season with the current team.

Everything will change by next summer, when Florentino intends to make transfers and sales in the defensive area. Even though the left-back position is one where movements will take place, the reality is that Álvaro Carreras isn't of the slightest interest. He's completely ruled out and Manchester United has been given the green light to take him back after his great season at Benfica.

Not Álvaro Carreras: Florentino is Going for Another Spanish Full-back for Real Madrid

Florentino is aware of all the movements happening in the market and has started looking for options, having one in sight for an absolutely ridiculous price: Miguel Gutiérrez.

Miguel Gutiérrez is the full-back chosen by Real Madrid to strengthen the defensive line in case the option of Canadian Alphonso Davies falls through. His contract with Girona includes a release clause of only 8 million, only valid if Florentino Pérez decides to pay it. It's an absolute bargain and Ancelotti is already informed about it, having given his approval.

He's magnificent conditions that, combined with his price, have convinced Madrid for his return to Santiago Bernabéu. Miguel Gutiérrez's contract includes a special clause to return to the white team for 8 million euros. Florentino Pérez will execute it immediately as soon as possible, scheduling his return for the start of the next season.

Miguel Gutiérrez has conveyed  his willingness to return to Real Madrid to Florentino Pérez at all times. He would be delighted and feels ready to make the leap after a great stint at Girona. Despite receiving interest from other clubs, his first option has always been his return to Santiago Bernabéu.

The plan is clear at Real Madrid: if a Spaniard returns to the club, it won't be Álvaro Carreras. The only one of interest is Miguel Gutiérrez, a better and cheaper option.
