Carlo Ancelotti has done it. He has made history with Real Madrid and is now the coach with the most titles in history, surpassing Miguel Muñoz.
15 titles in five years, there you go. Ancelotti was very happy at the end of the match but added he wasn't satisfied with what he saw on the field.
He explained it like this in front of the Tele5 cameras:
"I'm very happy. It's a success. We started off a bit shakily, but little by little we took control.
Obviously, we had a quality advantage but we had to show some chracater. And little by little, we ended up deserving it. In the end, I did like the players' attitude, we found the balls between the lines."
He also referred to Vinícius: "Offensively, we did well, Kylian and Rodrygo played well. We're very happy."
That "in the end, I did like the players' attitude" says a lot. There was celebration in the locker room, but also a reprimand from the coach.
Ancelotti no longer knows how to demand his men to come out fired up for matches to avoid scares, but it's tough. Today Pachuca didn't offer resistance but, in other matches, Madrid paid dearly for that lack of attitude.
The coach wants them to come out intense and motivated from the first minute. "In the end, I did like my players' attitude," which is as much as saying "at the beginning, I didn't."
It's also noteworthy that, when asked about Vinícius, he replies that Mbappé and Rodrygo played very well.
Florentino: "We've Worked Many Years to Have a Good Team"
Florentino Pérez, meanwhile, spoke on Real Madrid TV:
-"I'm very satisfied, it's a world champion title and it's the ninth time we've got it. It's a beautiful title and we were very excited to win it."
- "It's hard to match the 2024 we've had. We're going to fight to keep winning titles. We've started this season with two titles and we'll see what's left: the League, the Champions, and maybe more."
-"Having a good team is the most important thing. It's what I've tried to do all these years. And the truth is, we've won many titles and we have the ambition to keep winning them."
-"I'm not surprised the stands were full of Madrid fans. This is the work of many years, of many people, having whole world is full of Madrid fans. It's a satisfaction and a responsibility, I'm going to keep working to give them these joys."
