Carlo Ancelotti's continuity at Real Madrid is far from guaranteed. Florentino Pérez is considering all options and has his replacement ready. This was confirmed by journalist Roberto Morales on COPE. The network indicated that, for a few weeks now, Santiago Solari has been notified that he could take over from the Italian coach.
"I'm told from within Real Madrid that, for a couple of weeks now, he's been told to be ready. It's a message that has reached Ancelotti, just like it reached us. That really gets on his nerves. I'm told that Solari has received the message: He's the option," Morales said on COPE.
In this sense, he concluded wth his information about Santiago Solari by pointing out that "This is moving from the inside. Suddenly we are seeing a lot of Solari, today[at Liverpool]he was in the box."
Ancelotti in Danger: Solari is Ready for Real Madrid
It wouldn't be the first time Santiago Solari took charge of the Real Madrid dugout this way. In 2018, he was promoted to the first team after Lopetegui was sacked, but things didn't go too well for him. In any case, what Florentino is clear about is that he would be the emergency solution to be able to find Ancelotti's replacement with more time.
However, Florentino's plan for the moment is to do nothing. Much more is needed to get rid of a coach of Ancelotti's caliber. In any case, the interim replacement is more than decided in case this decision needs to be executed. The defeat against Liverpool doesn't mean a change of plans.
Florentino's intention is to close the transfer of Xabi Alonso as soon as possible. He has already formally started negotiations with him for 2025. Ancelotti will not continue beyond this campaign regardless of the resulte. The idea is to replace him with the Basque. If the Italian's dismissal comes before then, his place would go to Santiago Solari.
On the other hand, after several years at Castilla, Raúl González will end his contract with Real Madrid and will leave the club. This is due to the impossibility of occupying the bench at Santiago Bernabéu. There will be a "promotion" of coaches at La Fábrica, with Arbeloa being the replacement of the former Real Madrid player at the head of the reserve team.
Florentino Pérez's decision has already been made. If necessary, Solari would be the interim, while Xabi Alonso will wait until next season.
