Confirmed His Return to Bernabéu in 2026: Carlo Ancelotti Agrees with Florentino Pérez

Ancelotti's journey in Brazil will last a short time: everything is agreed for his return to Real Madrid after the World Cup

Carlo Ancelotti knew that after a trophyless season, he couldn't continue at Real Madrid. Despite having a contract until 2026, he will leave without any hindrance and without asking for a single euro for his termination. His next destination is Brazil, where he will be the coach until the next World Cup and, afterwards, he plans to return to Santiago Bernabéu, his home.

Carlo Ancelotti agrees on his return to Real Madrid

In the talks for his departure, the Italian has been clear with Florentino Pérez. According to Marca,  both parties have kept "alive" the possibility of reuniting sooner rather than later. On May 25, he will bid farewell to Santiago Bernabéu, but more than a goodbye forever, it will be a tribute and a "see you later".

Real Madrid needs a break from Carlo Ancelotti, and vice versa. They have already put forward the possibility that, once the adventure with Canarinha is over, he returns to the Madrid club in a "role to be determined".

He will never return as a coach

What is clear, according to Madrid-Barcelona, is that the idea of his return as a coach is ruled out. Xabi Alonso will arrive with a contract until 2028 and, if everything goes as planned, he is expected to be with Real Madrid for a long time.

On the table, they have considered  the possibility of Carlo Ancelotti returning in an office role, or even as an ambassador. The relationship is perfect, and everyone at Real Madrid wants the union between both to continue. But he will have to wait, at least, until 2026, which is when his contract as Brazil's coach ends.

Florentino Pérez has wished him good luck in his new adventure and hopes he can continue achieving many successes. Precisely with Canarinha, he will have a broad base of players from Real Madrid like Vinícius or Rodrygo, or even former Madridists like Casemiro. He has already contacted the latter to return to the drafts, considering him an essential pillar for his new project.

All the conditions Ancelotti requested to be Brazil's coach have been met. And the idea is clear: when this adventure ends, he will return to Real Madrid.
