After recording it for more than a year, Vinícius Júnior's documentary on Netflix, titled "Baila, Vini," premiered this Thursday, May 15. The reactions have not been long in coming, but what no one expected is that Valencia fans would launch a global boycott against it. They intend to sink its reviews and ratings, having started a campaign on relevant platforms like FilmAffinity.
Boycott against Vinícius Júnior and Netflix
A user on X, formerly known as Twitter, started it all. A Valencia fan, whose message has already been deleted, commented: "If we did it with a Lim hotel, what are we waiting for to do it here? You create the account in a minute and rate."
The truth is that the boycott seems to be working. At the moment, the Netflix documentary "Baila, Vini," already exceeds 1,900 ratings on FilmAffinity, and the score couldn't be worse. It is rated at a score of 1.5 out of 10, as you can't vote less than a 1 on the platform.

Anti-Madrid sentiment, but especially Valencianism, is mobilizing to try to sink the documentary that Vinícius Júnior made for Netflix. Not only on well-known review websites but also on the streaming platform itself. Here, the idea is clear: watch a few seconds of the 106 minutes recorded and, upon exiting, rate it negatively with a thumbs down.
Valencia considers suing Vinícius Júnior's production company
The controversy not only lies in the ratings that Vinícius Júnior's recording for Netflix is receiving. In the same documentary, insults of "Monkey! monkey!" are captioned when he was sent off at Mestalla, something that could be costly for the production company.

In recent hours, the journalist from El Chiringuito, Álex Silvestre, has discovered that Valencia is considering filing a lawsuit against the production company. From Mestalla, it is claimed that the chants actually said "Fool! fool!", and not the racist expression subtitled on Netflix.
It remains to be seen what will happen, but it is clear that Vinícius Júnior's recording with Netflix has not amused anyone at Mestalla and they are doing everything to boycott it.
