Josep Pedrerol's big news changes everything: unexpected signing on El Chiringuito

Pedrerol is preparing major changes in 'El Chiringuito,' with a key figure who could change everything

Josep Pedrerol has surprised everyone by announcing a signing that nobody expected on El Chiringuito. The sports talk show led by the Catalan journalist now has a new member: Patricia Lennon, who will take on the role of management advisor. In recent times, Lennon was director of shows like "El Programa de AR," "Ya es Mediodía," or "Y ahora Sónsoles."

She had been without a known position for over a year, absent from television. Within Atresmedia, she now  begins a new chapter on the sports talk show El Chiringuito, where she will become practically Pedrerol's right hand

It seems that Josep Pedrerol wants to give the show a new look by adding more female voices who can help him. Patricia Lennon has extensive experience in the television world and, apparently, arrives at El Chiringuito ready to bring a major change.

"El Chiringuito", on air since 2014

El Chiringuito, the sports show directed and hosted by Josep Pedrerol, has established itself as one of the leading references in sports journalism on television. It was born in 2014 after the end of Punto Pelota on Intereconomía, and since then it has kept an uninterrupted presence on screen through various Atresmedia channels, such as Nitro, Neox, Mega, and LaSexta.

The show has managed to reinvent itself season after season, without losing its essence: unfiltered soccer talk, passion for sports, and heated debates with a clear Madrid-Barça rivalry flavor. Its longevity  is already a phenomenon: over a decade on the air, leading its late-night slot and going viral every night on social media.

Among its best-known panelists are figures like Tomás Roncero, a Madridist reference and indispensable contributor; Juanma Rodríguez, always incisive and controversial; and Jorge D'Alessandro, an Argentine former coach who brings technical analysis and character. All of them have helped shape the show's unique style: direct, emotional, and unapologetic.

El Chiringuito has witnessed historic signings, refereeing controversies, exclusive statements, and unforgettable television moments. Josep Pedrerol, with his iconic phrase "¡Tic, tac!", has managed to turn it into a multigenerational media phenomenon, especially popular among young people thanks to its expansion on social media and YouTube.

In 2025, El Chiringuito is more alive than ever. A modern soccer classic on television that is already part of sports entertainment history.
