Carlo Ancelotti has been very clear about Endrick and Arda Güler. He did so in the press conference prior to the Champions League game that Real Madrid will play tomorrow in Bergamo against Atalanta.
The Italian coach has launched a torpedo at both of them. It is the reply to their complaints to friendly media about their situation.
Ancelotti is Not Happy with Endrick or Arda Güler
Ancelotti assumes that, if they belong to the Real Madrid squad, it's because he considers them valuable.
The feelings that are transmitted to them on a daily basis, in their daily work, are a different matter.
Ancelotti isn't happy with either of them. He doesn't doubt their enormous technical quality and the glorious future that awaits them. However, he doesn't see them working during training as he would like.
Ancelotti has given them a warning in Bergamo. Their problems are not going to disappear by seeking a loan in the winter market.
The Italian coach has decided that they'll remain at the club until the end of the season. They will learn to survive from a position that makes them uncomfortable: the bench.
Ancelotti wants them to mature as footballers and as persons. He wants them to learn to overcome the obstacles that life can throw at them.
Ancelotti Favors No-one
Asked about the situation of both players, Ancelotti said:
"Endrick will stay here, as will Güler. They may need more minutes, but I have no prejudices against anyone. I only try to put the best players in each game, whether they are 18 or 40 years old."
"Sometimes it can be like this with Endrick, with Güler or without them. You have to be patient with the youngsters, yes. They bring enthusiasm but, because they are young, they also have to learn certain things."
"I have no prejudices against young people. In my career, I've hired people who were 17 or 18 years old, if I thought it was ideal."
Message received. Ancelotti favors no-one, not even them.
The only thing Endrick and Güler have to do is prove Ancelotti that they are the best; then they'll play. Ancelotti himself has admitted that they have a lot to learn and he is taking care of that.
