Goodbye Pizza Hut: Papa John’s New Feature Causes a Stir in the United States

Papa Johns revolutionizes the market with a novelty that promises to leave behind its strongest competitors

In the competitive world of pizzerias, the most well-known chains strive to keep their loyal customers by constantly offering innovations in their menus. Pizza Hut and Papa Johns are two of the brands that stand out the most in this field, competing with each other to win over the palates of pizza lovers.

Papa Johns has just surprised its customers in the United States with the return of one of its most popular products, which has already caused a great stir. This pizzeria has relaunched an iconic dish, this time with an edition that promises to win over more than one fan.

The Return of the Shaq-a-Roni Pizza

This year, Papa Johns has decided to make a triumphant return with its famous Shaq-a-Roni Pizza. This pizza, which has become a brand staple, returns to stores for the sixth consecutive time, but only for a limited time. As its name suggests, the Shaq-a-Roni Pizza was created in collaboration with basketball star Shaquille O'Neal.

The pizza is an extra-large version of Papa Johns's traditional pizzas, with a diameter of 16 in. (40.64 cm). It's topped with a generous layer of cheese and more than 60 slices of pepperoni, which is 25% more than a standard large one-topping pizza.

This offering is available for just $12.99, making it an affordable option for those who want to enjoy a tasty and large pizza, reports All Recipes. Additionally, customers have the option to customize it with additional toppings, although some may incur extra charges.

Although the Shaq-a-Roni Pizza is well-known for its size and amount of toppings, what makes it special is the way it's cut: into eight giant slices. Orders can be placed through the website or via their app, with direct home deliveries.

Papa Johns's Global Expansion and Growth

Papa Johns, which started as a franchise in the United States, has managed to expand significantly outside the country, becoming one of the largest chains in the world. Although it still lags behind Pizza Hut and Domino's in terms of sales volume, it has established itself as the fourth largest pizza chain in the U.S. market. Additionally, the company has a presence in more than 45 countries, including key markets in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, where it continues to grow year after year.

In Spain, for example, Papa Johns has established itself as the second most important European market, with a strong presence in cities like Madrid, where it has opened more than 40 restaurants. The company plans to continue expanding its franchise network, with the goal of opening more stores in various regions of the country. This growth is also reflected in its product offerings, like the Shaq-a-Roni Pizza, which has become one of the most demanded dishes.
