U-turn With Vitor Roque, Deco Closes It With Palmeiras: 'barça...'

FC Barcelona closes the deal after FIFA's approval and only Betis's approval is pending.

It has been challenging, but after several weeks of negotiations, Barça has reached an agreement with Palmeiras for the transfer of Vitor Roque. Everything is agreed upon for the departure of the Brazilian international, who will return to his home country after just over a year in Spain. Deco didn't want to waste time and has closed the deal after finally receiving FIFA's definitive OK to carry it out.

In this regard, journalist Gerard Romero announced on Jijantes that the agreement with Palmeiras is closed. Barça will receive a total of 25.5 million euros fixed for Vitor Roque, with the possibility of increasing the final amount through variables. Taking this into account, the operation could increase up to 30.5 million euros if all agreed objectives are met.

Barça Doesn't Lose Money with Vitor Roque

If all the variables agreed with Palmeiras are met, Barça won't have lost money with Vitor Roque. Looking back, it is clear that, sportingly, the operation has been a failure, but not economically.

To the 30 million fixed that were agreed with Athletico Paranaense, another 31 "kilos" in variables could have been added. However, none of these variables have been met, fortunately for Barça.

In total, Barcelona would have had to pay an additional 25 million euros for Vitor Roque's participation in matches. In the case of having played 50% of the matches in a season, Barça would disburse 5 million for each of these, up to a cap of 25.

Meanwhile, there would still be 6 million more in the air regarding variables. 5 "kilos" in the event that Vitor Roque became one of the three finalists for the 'The Best' award given by FIFA... and one more million if he won the Ballon d'Or before 2031.

This means that, of those 31 million euros in variables, 0 have been paid for Vitor Roque, leaving the operation at 30 million.

Vitor Roque and Barça Await Betis's OK

Thus, everything is pending the final verdict from Betis, the team where Vitor Roque is on loan. The Andalusians don't want to lose him, while Barça and the forward are fighting hard to achieve this move to Palmeiras.
