FC Barcelona keeps planning the squad for next season, although there are several possibilities on the table. Despite rumors of a possible transfer of Ronald Araújo for his release clause, it seems that the plans are heading in another direction. Hansi Flick wants to keep counting on the Uruguayan next season, which means that another center-back has the door open to leave.
Ronald Araújo causes another sale
Currently, Barça has up to six defenders who can play in the center of the backline. For Flick, the pair formed by Cubarsí and Íñigo Martínez has been untouchable this past season. Meanwhile, Koundé has established himself on the right flank, where Eric García has also stood out. With Araújo's departure ruled out, one name remains hanging in the air: Andreas Christensen.

Christensen is under contract until June 30, 2026 and hasn't been offered any renewal. The Dane, who's 29 years old, has spent more than half the season injured and hasn't been a major part of Hansi Flick's plans. Nevertheless, in the final stretch of the season, he has had minutes, performing at a high level, which has sparked interest from Saudi Arabia.
Al-Nassr comes for Andreas Christensen
Andreas Christensen arrived at Barça on a free transfer from Chelsea, which means his sale would be all profit. The central defender line is considered well covered and Flick wouldn't mind his departure if the offer is good and helps improve other positions.

Sport has discovered that Al-Nassr emissaries were in Barcelona a month ago asking about the situation of several players. One of them was Andreas Christensen, who's caused a lot of interest in the market. Even though the Dane is currently advocating to stay and fight for minutes, a huge offer from Saudi Arabia could change everything.
Al-Nassr is willing to shower him with gold and pay a transfer fee of around €10-15 million, according to Madrid-Barcelona. No decision has been made yet, but meetings are expected in the coming weeks to make a decision. Andreas Christensen may be 'forced' to leave due to Ronald Araújo's continuity. We'll have to stay tuned...
