Radical Turn with a Starter against Valencia — He might Leave Barça: ‘He’s Wanted…’

Hansi Flick has given him the starting opportunity against Valencia, but he might leave FC Barcelona.

Barça has come out strong from the first moment against Valencia, despite Hansi Flick's rotations. Several players want to earn more opportunities, and this has resulted in a 5-0 score after the first 45 minutes. The main surprise has been the starting position (and the goal) for Frenkie de Jong, despite the rumors placing him leaving the culer team sooner rather than later.

Hours before the match between Barça and Valencia, COPE journalist Víctor Navarro announced on his X account a possible destination for Frenkie de Jong. All roads seem to point to Arabia's Al-Ittihad, where his main supporter is a familiar face to the blaugrana fan: Ramón Planes, their sporting director.

In this regard, the aforementioned journalist has pointed out that Ramón Planes is "on the lookout" and "wants" the Dutchman for next summer. The Spaniard wants to fish in troubled waters by taking a player who is not indisputable and whom Barcelona wants to offload. The situation is difficult to sustain, and all parties seem to advocate for a departure in the coming months.

Frenkie De Jong's Next Destination is in Arabia

Frenkie de Jong's contract with Barcelona ends in 2026, and at the moment, he has no proposal to renew. Laporta has been trying in recent months but has thrown in the towel due to the lack of reply from the player. He offered to continue for more years, adjusting his current salary and spreading it out over the coming seasons.

Frenkie de Jong wouldn't be pleased by this proposal as he's motivated by money. In Arabia's Al-Ittihad, he could find an ideal destination, and he could not only could maintain his current salary. He could even improve it, and Barça is clear: open doors for the Dutchman.

If Frenkie de Jong accepts heading to Arabia, Barcelona will facilitate his departure. The plan is clear: earn some money before he can leave for free and get rid of his salary. Between both things and being in the 1:1 rule, Barça believes they could make a great signing next summer. Everything will depend on how eager the Dutchman is to leave the club and the capital of Catalonia...
