Pedri Names Barça's New Transfer after Seeing Jules Koundé: Talks have been Held

The FC Barcelona star has indicated to Deco and Laporta a new transfer that could be key to the future of the club

FC Barcelona continues to explore the market in search of reinforcements. One of the names that has recently emerged is that of Andrei Ratiu, Rayo Vallecano's right-back.

The 26-year-old Romanian has drawn attention after his outstanding performance last European Championship and his good playing in La Liga. According to recent reports, Ratiu has been the subject of discussion during a key meeting between Deco, Barça's sporting director, and Pedri's agents.

The Meeting between Deco and Pedri's Agents

The main goal of the meeting was to extend the contract of the talented Canary Island midfielder. However, the meeting was also good to discuss other important issues.

Among them, Ratiu's future occupied a prominent place in the conversation. Pedri's agents, who also represent the Romanian defender, took advantage of the lunch to raise his name. The blaugrana club, always attentive to the market, showed interest in his contractual situation.

Ratiu has a contract with Rayo Vallecano until 2028, but Villarreal retains 50% of his rights plus a buyback option. This circumstance could complicate any eventual negotiation but Barça doesn't rule out continuing to monitor the player's development.

Competition at the Right Back

FC Barcelona's right-back can count on Jules Koundé and Héctor Fort, a promising 18-year-old who is standing out in the first team. Although confidence in Fort is high, his youth and lack of experience contrast with the career of Ratiu. The latter has shown solvency both in LaLiga and internationally.

The interest in Ratiu also reflects the club's need to strengthen a position that has been the subject of debate in recent years. The Romanian's experience could complement the current options and add depth to the squad.

Other Names on the Agenda

Noah Darvich, an 18-year-old German attacking midfielder and reserve-team player, was also a topic of discussion. Darvich is considered one of the great promises of European soccer. However, he's had a hard time adapting during his first few months at Barça Atlètic.

In recent weeks, he's gained prominence and was even drafted by Xavi for a match at Balaídos. His progress will be key to determining his future at the club.
