Breaking News! Official — Laporta Announces an Unexpected Decision: ‘No More’

Joan Laporta releases Barça's plans after the signing of Marcus Rashford

Barça keeps planning its squad for next season. So far, it has made three signings: Joan García, Bardghji, and Marcus Rashford. In this context, in which none of them are registered in LaLiga yet, Laporta has made a clear decision: there will be no more signings. The only thing left is to finish defining the squad with some departures, which remains a pending task for Deco.

"There will be no more signings"

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Laporta spoke about the culer squad situation: "Our main obsession was to keep the group because we believe it has had a great, historic season. That's why many offers we've received, we haven't even considered them".

Laporta continued by explaining that "Flick asked us for more firepower up front and I think with Rashford we've got it. Then we've strengthened very well in goal".

In this regard, he was clear: "We've also brought in Roony Bardghji, who's an explosive player, one of those you like to watch. The objectives have been met. There will be no more signings. We have a very complete squad. We've met the objectives. No more signings are expected".

"There will be adjustments"

He didn't stop there, with Laporta revealing that there's no intention to make a major sale. However, there could be other departures to lighten the wage bill and allow for pending registrations.

Laporta pointed out: "There will be salary savings. I don't think a major sale will happen. We'd break the spirit of the team. We'll try to avoid any painful departures".

Finally, he concluded in his interview with Mundo Deportivo: "I'm not going to specify players. There will be adjustments, but it'll be up to the coach".

The "targeted" at Barça

They don't want to weaken the squad, and any "goodbyes" that happen will have Hansi Flick's approval. So far, there have been six departures at Barça. The most surprising has been Pau Víctor, for whom they've collected €12+3 million from Sporting de Braga. However, they've also received money for Álex Valle (€6 million) and Pablo Torre (€5 million). Meanwhile, they've lightened the wage bill with the departures of Lenglet and Ansu Fati.

In this regard, Laporta has several names on the table to leave. One is Christensen, who's of great interest in Saudi Arabia and isn't in Hansi Flick's plans. Meanwhile, in midfield, there could be a surprising departure on loan due to the existing overcrowding. The choice would be between Bernal or Casadó, as surprising as it may seem.
