No one expected Gerard Piqué's call to Laporta: 'Presi, I need a favor'

Gerard Piqué personally contacts Laporta to propose a beneficial business for Barça and Andorra

FC Barcelona is planning its squad for next season, and there's a question in the air that's generating some doubts within the culer sports management structure. The issue is what to do with the top prospects who are now at Barça Atlètic, recently relegated to Segunda Federación. They've dropped to the fourth tier of Spanish soccer, which complicates their development and desire to be part of the blaugrana sports project.

Many of them seem likely to leave FC Barcelona. With no opportunities in a very crowded first team, they're looking to move to a more competitive league. To avoid a mass exodus, the figure of Gerard Piqué, former culer footballer and owner of Andorra, has emerged, a team that has just been promoted again to Segunda División.

Gerard Piqué proposes a deal to Laporta

"Jijantes", a media outlet well connected to Piqué's circle, has revealed that the owner of Andorra wants to "take advantage" of the reserve team's relegation to strengthen its project. In this regard, he "has sounded out" in recent hours to reach a partnership agreement between both clubs, putting on the table the option to accept several culer academy players on loan.

What Gerard Piqué has proposed to Laporta is to strengthen Andorra's project with some of the top talents from La Masia. Always without FC Barcelona losing control over them, and offering a place where they can play in a higher-level competition. In this sense, the Andorran team would also benefit from their quality to keep growing in Spanish soccer.

Several academy players on the table

There are several La Masia players who have offers on the table to leave immediately. The main problem is that Barça doesn't want to part with them, with Joan Laporta being very much in favor of this kind of "partnership" agreement with Andorra.

Guillermo Fernández, with top offers in Europe, is one of the names that Gerard Piqué has already personally approached, according to Madrid-Barcelona. The academy player is willing to leave, considering that he has a higher level than Segunda Federación (Segunda Federación).

In any case, nothing is even close yet. What seems clear is that Gerard Piqué has convinced Laporta. Relations between FC Barcelona and Andorra are very positive, and both sides can benefit from this. There will be more news in the coming days, things are looking good...
