No One Expected What Jota Jordi Said! Total Shock at Barça: ‘I’d Sell…’

Jota Jordi has surprised with his statements, proposing an unexpected sale at FC Barcelona

El Chiringuito is on vacation, but that's not stopping its most well-known panelists from taking to social media. The latest to speak has been Jota Jordi, who has clearly referred to Barça's sports planning this summer. In a viral challenge from the show, he had to choose between three Barça players: one as a starter, another as a substitute, and the last one to sell.

Jota Jordi puts the transferable tag

First, he started with the starter, choosing Lamine Yamal. Then, for the substitute position, he went with Raphinha. Meanwhile, the footballer he would sell out of the three is Robert Lewandowski, clearly putting the transferable tag on the Polish striker.

Lewandowski was Barça's top scorer this past season, being an undisputed starter and playing at a high level. Despite that, for Jota Jordi, his age has worked against him: he's already 36 years old and will turn 37 in a month. It's also not easy for him to finish his contract in 2026, when he likely won't be renewed and the club will look for another top-level "9" in the transfer market.

In this sense, the choice to sell Robert Lewandowski has been understood by a large part of Barça's fans. Although his performance is highly valued by everyone, age has been a clear obstacle when it comes to selecting him in this famous viral challenge.

Robert Lewandowski: a killer without an expiration date

Few players have had such an immediate and decisive impact at Barça as Robert Lewandowski. Since his arrival at the blaugrana club, the Polish striker has been synonymous with goals, and this past season was no exception: 42 goals and 3 assists in 52 matches are numbers that speak for themselves. Even though he'll soon turn 37 years old, Lewandowski remains the main offensive reference for the culer side.

His experience, tactical intelligence, and goal-scoring instinct make him an indispensable piece for Hansi Flick, who considers him one of the leaders of the project. In addition, his professionalism and commitment to the team have been exemplary, both on and off the field. In a Barça that has gone through a period of transition, Lewandowski represents stability, leadership, and guaranteed goals

Although his contract expires in 2026, and everything points to that being his farewell date, the club and the player are clear that the contract will be fulfilled until the end. No early departures are expected, nor an immediate replacement who can match his numbers.

Meanwhile, Barça is enjoying one of the best strikers of the 21st century, who keeps making a difference match after match. Robert Lewandowski wants to leave through the front door, and his numbers prove he still has a lot to offer
